Automatic Pattern Recognition and Historical Handwriting Analysis

The 20th International SAOT Workshop at Erlangen this year will be on Automatic Pattern Recognition and Historical Handwriting Analysis. Hosted by the Graduate School in Advanced Optical Technologies at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, this workshop will include some of the biggest names in automated handwriting analysis, including some who inspired early stages of the DigiPal project such as Lambert Schomaker from Groningen and Sargur Srihari from the State University of New York (SUNY).

The workshop will include sessions on:

  • Traditional palaeography
  • Writer identification
  • Digital palaeography
  • General document analysis
  • Automatic handwriting recognition and analysis
