Stokes, English Vernacular Script, ca 990–ca 1035, Vol. 2 (PhD Thesis, University of Cambridge, 2006)
This gloss was written in a somewhat angular hand with a fairly wide and fairly flat pen. The one ascender and three descenders are all slightly longer than minims; the ascender has a small wedge, and one of the descenders turns slightly to the left. The body of a is round and fairly wide, and the back is angled at about 60°. The back of e is much steeper but is still not vertical; it is fairly straight and has a short lower hook, and the tongue is straight and rising and the eye small. The shoulder of r is quite angular.
