This note has a long ascender with a wedge, and no descenders are found. Minims have short approach-strokes and horizontal feet. More or less teardrop-shaped a is found but the top is often straight and angled and does not always join the left side neatly, so the letter can be more lozenge-shaped. Round c was used, as was e with no horn but a straight back and horizontal tongue. Caroline s and r were used.
