Stokes, English Vernacular Script, ca 990–ca 1035, Vol. 2 (PhD Thesis, University of Cambridge, 2006)
This word was written in a fairly regular and rounded hand with a thin pen. The ascender is longer than minims and has a short approach-stroke which joins the down-stroke just beneath the tip. The descenders are as long as minims and curve noticably to the left. The first occurrence of æ is a large initial, the a-component is Caroline, the tongue sits above cue-height and is horizontal, and the hook is short. The second occurrence shows a round a-component, a horizontal tongue just below cue-height, and a small, short hook which remains below cue-height.The tongue of f is flat and slightly longer than the hook. The shoulders of m and r are rounded and show short approach-strokes, and the feet of m have short horizontal feet.
